Privacy Policy
Brief description of the purpose of the privacy policy
This Privacy Policy describes how chicken-roadca.ca handles personal information collected from visitors. We take data protection seriously - not because we have to (though we do), but because it’s the right way to run a site people can actually trust. This policy covers what we collect, how we use it, who might see it, and what you can do about all of that.
Use of the information collected: to improve the site, optimize performance and analyze data
When you visit chicken-roadca.ca, certain information gets collected automatically. That includes your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit, how long you spend on them, and the device you’re using. We don’t tie that to your name or any directly identifying detail - it’s aggregate, anonymous stuff that tells us things like “our mobile layout is causing people to leave early” or “this particular page gets almost no traffic.” Useful, practical, not creepy.
If you voluntarily contact us via email, we collect whatever information you include in that message - your email address, name if you provide it, and the content of your inquiry. We use that only to respond to you. We don’t add you to any mailing list without asking first, and we don’t hand your email to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Analytics data is processed through tools like Google Analytics. That service has its own privacy framework, and if you’re curious about exactly what Google does with analytics data, their own privacy documentation covers it in detail. From our end, we use the data to make the chicken road game review content more relevant and the site easier to navigate.
Description of measures taken to protect personal data
We use HTTPS across the entire site, meaning data transmitted between your browser and our server is encrypted. Access to any collected data is restricted - only a small number of people involved in site maintenance can see it, and they’re bound by confidentiality. We don’t store payment information because we don’t process payments. Stored data is kept on servers with standard security configurations, and we review our practices periodically.
No system is 100% bulletproof - anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. But we apply reasonable, industry-standard protections and we don’t collect more data than we actually need.
Use of cookies
Cookies are part of how the site functions and how we gather performance data. The full picture on that is in our Cookie Policy, which you can read separately. Short answer: we use session cookies, analytics cookies, and preference cookies. You can manage or disable them through your browser at any time.
Users’ ability to view, modify or delete their personal information
If you’ve contacted us and want to know what information we hold about you, you can ask. Same goes for corrections or deletion requests. Under GDPR and comparable frameworks, you have the right to access, rectify, and erase your personal data. Send a request to contact@chicken-roadca.ca and we’ll handle it promptly - typically within 30 days, though complex requests might take a little longer.
If you think we’ve handled your data incorrectly, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
